I walked in one morning to drop off my 2 and 3 year olds.  As I walked back to my car, i forgot to leave something w/their teacher.  So I quietly made my way back into the school into the classroom adjacent. (This was only my childrens 3 day attending this school, so they cried when I left.) I tried to get the teacher(s) attention w/o having my children see me again.  Suddenly, my son was whimpering and I heard the teacher say, "quiet or I will smack you"! Another teacher helper replied, "you should smack him!" I bardged into the classroom and took my children w/me immediately. I did manage to say a few choice words at the stunned teachers, but unfortunately there were no adult witnesses.  I reported this to the director of the school, the owner, and filed a police report, and reported them to Children Services with City of Burbank.  The Burbank Leader wrote an article from my account.  Needless, to say the teacher was fired and we never considered this school again.

Mai: My daughter has been attending Burbank Montessori Academy for a year now and my husband and I are quite pleased with her growth. The teachers are wonderful and nurturing and I love that the kids have an actual playground to run around in that has real trees.  Most preschools we visited had kids playing on parking lot asphalt.  There are many art projects and music that is learned which is very important to us.
