Buena Vista Elementary School Reviews
I love Buena Vista my family has been attending this school since it opened 50 years ago. My son is in kindergarten rite now and he is doing great! The teachers and staff go out of thier way to make sure the students get what they need. It might not be the schools fault it might be your child. We have had nothing but satisfaction with our sons education. If they close this school it will be a great loss to olde Carlsbad. But of course its always about the money, forget our childrens education and what the parents want.
I was seriously disappointed in this school. We tried it for a year. When I expressed my concerns with the principal, she told me that every child can afford to have one bad year. What kind of advice was that?! My son had an IEP and we definitely couldn't "afford to have one bad year". While my son's math scores plummeted to far below failing, I was told that he was still within average. I don't believe in bell curves, and when grades are below 65%, I consider them failing. The only obvious choice was to leave.
