Kyran washington: This is a very good school I was struggling in Geometry in 10 grade and failed it. came to this school and got a B+. My worse mistake that I ever made was to leave it and go back to a public school for twelve grade currently trying to get back in it I hope they except me back.

I currently go to this school, and I am on the online program... It is amazing. I am so glad that my high school memories will be with this school, and with these teachers. I think that this is the best home school that any highschooler would want...

Helen Shellhammer: I am a parent of a Visions student. I have three children and have many years of collective public and private school experience as a parent. My daughter has severe learning disabilities and has struggled since kindergarten in mainstream school. I had exhausted every reasource available in the public school arena and experimented with other home based learning problems with little success. My daughter will be graduating next June which is truly a miracle. Visions in Education is in my opinion the future model of public school in California. With such a stressed system, children with learning disabilities have little hope of succeeding let alone graduating. This program has it all. Experienced teachers and administrators with a "think outside of the box" approach to education. They are extremely successful working with modifications and 504 plans. Your child does not get lost in the system at this school. It is affordable and progressive. My daughter would not have passed high school without this program. This may not be for your student if they thrive in a lecture based learning system and truly enjoy their public school experience. But in my opinion that encompasses about 25% of learners. This is a great alternative to that way of learning. I don't know what I would have done had I not found Visions.

I think this is a wonderful program! When my daughter first approached me about Visions, I was unsure at first. Wow!! Was I ever impressed. There is so much drama in high school. She always earned great grades, but began slipping. Well, she graduated early with terrific grades. Her teacher who came to work with her weekly was wonderful! Thank you, Bonnie!!

Megan: I attended VIE throughout my 4 years of high school. Before visions, I was not a focused student. Going through peer pressure and just dealing with things everyday at school that had nothing to do with education. VIE allowed me to be at home in an environment where the focus was on my needs for education. My teacher had patience with me and the tutoring programs were excellent. I was able to acquire my own daily regimend and it gave me a sense of responsibility. When it came to parental involvement my completion of daily work was up to me. i studied alot thru the online service/computer provided through sky-q. to sum it up i never got a grade less then a B. and my only C was quickly changed when i took tutoring. I attended college my Senior year in high school and graduated early. VIE offers an awesome advanced ed program that allows students to start college early with limited costs ;) i am now 20 and assistant teach hiphop through american river colleges dance program. i am amost done with my AA degree in business marketing and am also attending beauty college and will have my license in september. VIE is a great option for kids who have an independant drive. I learned alot and i dont know if i wouldve got this far without attending home school. Education for children for our future! thats what its all about. Please dont take note on my punctual errors. i have class in 20 minutes; just thought id stop by for a quick review from a student perspective.

I'm a parent of one of your students... and she loved the program and visions and will be graduating this year. I was unsure about her decision to do this program at first, but it turned out to be very successful for my daughter. Thanks to Visions for assisting my daughter in her choice to do independent studies through your program. See you at graduation on 6-16-2010

visions in education was one of the most unprofessional schools i have ever attended. I attended there and was made promises that they never held to. Such as if i was to complete the whole school year than i would receive my school computer for free, unfortunately that never went through as planned.

Ed Torres: My wife and I are very happy with Visions in Education. This was the second year that my daughter has been enrolled in their program and she is doing very well. My wife teaches our daughter and this last school year, my daughter was enrolled in her first college course - English Composition. She did excellent in the State Exit Exams for the eigth grade. We had enrolled her in a private school prior to Visions, however our daughter felt that she was not being challenged and found the private school unfulfilling. The assigned instructor/mentor, Mr. Bob Williams, and Vision's administration support staff have always gone out of their way to provide us with the tools we needed to help our daugther in her studies. Unlike the previous preveiw I read, my wife and I did not have any problems with the budget we were allocated for books and supplies. Our daughter is looking forward to the next school year's ninth grade class

I switched to Visions after pulling my children out of a nearby school due to disappointment in the public school system. I was warned about Visions from a past parent but it was the only option I felt was available to me at the time. Visions does a horrible job at preparing parents in regards to curriculum choices, rules, how to use their online resources, etc. Visions says you have a lot more control over your child's education, but you really don't. With the strict CA standards and certain questions they want spewed back out, it doesn't give you a lot of room to tailor and work with. I was very disappointed in how they throw a bunch of forms at you, tell you that they need to be filled in, but not tell you what type of info they want, and how specific and then when it isn't what they are looking for, they just tell you it isn't correct. While Visions gives each student a budget to work with for the year; they also funnel purchases through their suppliers at very high costs out of the student account instead of the ability to find and purchase same books at lower costs though their other suppliers. Extra curricular actives were very expensive as well. Some of the classes I looked into on their vendor list were hundreds of dollars for a few 15 minute sessions. We are talking $80 an hour these people would have been paid. If they are going to use the school system to get customers, they could at least make them reasonably priced instead of jacking up the costs, just like with the school books. Visions is very disorganized, test driven system, just like the rest of the CA school system. Do not expect a homeschooling freedom with Visions.
