Kim Alvares: My son is currently a Junior in High School at Whitmore. Having been there since his Freshman year, we have plenty of experience and much to say. Whitmore Charter is like no other. It is a college block style school. Classes can be taken online, on campus, home schooled, or at the local Junior College. The staff (teachers and all) are really interested in the students. They take an interest in getting to know the students and families on a deeper level than the typical school. The staff as a whole are excellent in communication and relationship building with the students. The school has higher standards and is family friendly, providing a parent room, also known as a social room. The students also have a social room for when they are on campus and not in a class. The arts department; drama, dance, & choir in particular, is amazing. I love this school!

About the CST
What is it?
The California Standards Test (CST) is an annual exam used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The CST is one of the five components of the STAR Program.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in grades 2 through 11 in English language arts and math, in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science, and in grades 8, 10 and 11 in history/social science. In grades 9 through 11, students may also be assessed in math and science, depending on course enrollment.
