About the CST
What is it?
The California Standards Test (CST) is an annual exam used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The CST is one of the five components of the STAR Program.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in grades 2 through 11 in English language arts and math, in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science, and in grades 8, 10 and 11 in history/social science. In grades 9 through 11, students may also be assessed in math and science, depending on course enrollment.
How is it Scored?
Students receive one of five ratings: far below basic, below basic, basic, proficient or advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

I go to this school and i am in 7th grade. Over the four years i have been here, i noticed that it is very important to be popular here. And it is a kind of uncomfortable feeling. Also, it is not the principal's fault or anything but, there are some very rude people there. but that is all on the parents and how they show their child to act. Overall it is a good school, nice teachers, learning environment. The teachers give up their lives to you at this school, you are priority. if you need a makeup test done, the teacher will give up their lunch time for you. if you need help, you don't get what you're learning, they will not go home after school until you fully understand it. The chance to go to this school is a privilege and it is sad that people take advantage of it. Its either work hard or go home.
