Cedargrove Elementary School

Cedargrove is the best school in our area! We are a California Distinguished School for so many reasons. The staff (teachers and all support staff) and parents go above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis. For example, the entire community came together yesterday afternoon to kick off our annual community service "Blankets of Love." Together with our lead teacher, all our schools, district office, and even local representatives from merchants cut material to make 1,000+ blankets to be delivered to area hospitals to terminally ill patients. I've been teaching for 23 years and am continually amazed at how much the people here are willing to give of their own time to make this a truly remarkable school. Our aides stay way beyond their salaried time to work in teachers' classrooms and tutor students before and after school. Our librarian leads our school in many family night activities, like Family Reading Night and Family Math Night. Our proctor comes early and will not go home at night until every student is picked up or accounted for. Our office staff takes on many extra responsibilites, like taking care of families in need with holiday baskets, being contributing members on our PTA, helping with fund raisers, just to name a few. It is this attitude of community service and putting the needs of our students first that is the driving force of Cedargrove. I am proud to be a part of such a fine school.
