Ghs Academy- Golden Hills School

I called today for general information and the receptionist was so rude, i hung up.  We are looking for a Jr K program and this is one place I will no longer consider.  

removed our child mid-year and enrolled in public school.  This school is academically all over the place.  Some classes ridiculously over the top in homework and instruction, some appropriate and some so far behind not up to speed with other schools in the area.  Our experience was with the middle school (8th grade).  Absolutely not worth the money.  The public school our child is now enrolled at has been welcoming and the teachers have made extra effort to make up for the deficiencies she experienced at GHS.

The biggest let down of this school is it's expense. Granted it is a private school so the expectation of financial burden is a given. However; for the 2010 school year the level of K is increasing to over $800.00/month. This does not include lunches or any of the extra curricular activities. They require a mandatory donation or 4K in script. Plus mandatory volunteer hours or $250 to buy your way out. Every few weeks you will get letters asking for additional donations or additional fund-raising to gain even more funds. There is no price tag for education but given the ratings of the public schools in this particular area I would strongly recommend you do some homework because the constant reaching in your pocket is borderline gouging.
