About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. Alder Grove Charter School Reviews
I went through a lot of schools and never had interest in any of them. After dropping out of high school for a bit I found Alder Grove and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! My teacher Rachel Hernandez was amazing! She is the only teacher I have ever had that really wanted to help me and kept me interested. If it wasn't for her I would have never graduated high school. I could never thank her enough!
We are wrapping up our 6th year homeschooling in Humboldt Co.. The first 2 yrs. with Mattole Valley then with Castle Rock & then when they pulled out of Hum.Co. Then a really great thing happened - some of the same great teachers devoted their energy and took out their own charter! The rest is history. I think that Alder Grove Charter School is the best thing that's happened for home schoolers in Hum.Co. Their staff is supportive & AGCS offer a wide variety of activity's where you & your children can meet others that home school too. S.H.
