Wedgeworth Elementary School

Irene Ramirez: I can't enough about this amazing school! Not only are they preparing our children for the future with a dual language program, on campus Youth Science Center, and an abundance of afterschool activities, everyone from the principal to the teachers to the custodians are committed to the success and advancement of all of the students.  The school is always thinking out of the box to keep its stuents excited and eager to learn such as student rotations between same grade teachers for some subjects, ensuring that every student understands the curriculum through different teaching methods.  The school also encourages not only parent participation but community participation through activities, such as the annual Winter Festival, this year featuring the Space Travel Museum.  The concern for the safety of our children are also a top priority, each teacher stands with their class behind the front gate and does not release the students until a parent is seen.  The teachers are amazing in that they go above and beyond to help the students, my daughter's teacher last year even offered to watch her after school when I had an emergency at work and wasn't abe to get to her school on time.  This is my daughter's second year at Wedgeworth and transferring her has been the best all around decsion I  made for my daughter, who is thrivng academically socially.  Anyone who says or believes a world class education can't be achieved at a public school needs to come to Wedgewoth.  Wedgeworth blows that notion not only out of the water but gives the public school system a great name!!!  A proud and thankful parent of an amazing third grader at Wedgeworth Elementary School!
