Sonora High School Reviews
I am a student at SOHS, and it is an absolutely extraordinary school! The Ib program is wonderful, and the teachers and staff are the best!Especially the science teachers! They are just so into what they teach. sure, our reputation isn't as great as troy and sunny hills, but the honors classes are the same, and are just as rigorous! There isn't as much competition, so it won't be as difficult to get into the college/university of our choice if we do well. Not to mention that its all indoors!!!We have IB, IMPACT, Best Buds, Science Olympiad, JROTC, FFA, SCUBA!!! There are so many programs to choose from!
I partially agree with the above comment from Current Student. However, I have to disagree with the whole attendance & guideline comment. I believe you must be an active & participating role as a parent, in your childs education. As a parent of a Senior & Sophomore, I have yet to experience a problem/issue that I disagreed with.
I am a student at this high school, I am 18 have and A and B report card. I do bot recommend allowing your children to attend this school. It is a nice environment, not much violence or "clique" problems. But the administration is not helpful to students, they do not inform the students completely of attendance rules, and do not follow guidelines with attendance either. They only excuse abcenses when they feel like it, disregarding notes and phone calls. They do not notify students when they have unexcused abscences.
