AS A PARENT OF A CHILD AT THIS SCHOOL THAT GETS GOOD GRADES AND PLAYS ON THE VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM, IS MORE THAN YOUR AVERAGE PLAYER, MY CHILD DOES NOT GET ANY EXPOSURE FOR SCOUTS TO SEE HIM OR ANYTHING OF THAT SORT TO EVEN DREAM OF MY CHILD OBTAINING ANY TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP. VERY DISAPPOINTING. AVERAGE OF SCHOOLS GRADES ARE VERY POOR. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL AT ALL. MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO PARENTS IN THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT WOULD BE TO GET AN OPEN ENROLLMENT PACKET AND HAVE YOUR CHILD ATTEND ANOTHER SCHOOL SUCH AS LANCASTER HIGH OR QUARTZ HILLS. I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR WELL OVER 15 YEARS AND THIS SCHOOL NEEDS HELP!

AVHS has its pros and cons. Some teachers are there to help, teach, and empower stdents while others just needed a job to help ends meet. The students come from alk types of backgrounds, with the majority from broken homes. I wish I could go to another school buh at the end of the day I remember av Is not that bad.

chris: this high school seems great when its enrollment time, the teachers and the staff are very Disrespectful to students during school hours but try to act as if there the nicest people when parents are around staff mainly Security are just out of line from tackeling, harrsing students on a daily basis about irrelevant things, to tackeling females students on to the ground for no good reason (seen with my own eyes) i just would not recommend this school as a choice to future parents and kids.
