Soar High (Students on Academic Rise) High School
5SOAR can be stressful but it really challenges students with its rigorous curriculum. One of the parent reviews says that we lose our childhood by going here but four years are NOTHING. The rest of your life counts way more than those four years. After that, you're on your own and SOAR really prepares you for that. The people here are respectful, kind, and appreciate education. If you look at our scores, they are the highest in the district and 7th in state. I agree that this program is not for all students. It is for students who want to get ahead, and who desire a challenge in order to become better students.

Soar High (Students on Academic Rise) High SchoolI have always valued a good education and great teachers and when im at SOAR thats exactly what u get. The academics are the best around and the classroom sizes are small making it easier to learn and be heard. I would thouroughly recommend this school!

Soar High (Students on Academic Rise) High SchoolAppreciative Mother: The SOAR program for Students on Academic Rise is not a public school normative, it may be an alternate program, but with strong polarity, adhering to strict policies and regulations for students and parents, and you must apply with at least two (2) recommendation letters (and an addition one from their 8th grade principle).
No, the school is not for the schedule-impaired student or parent, for indolence, disrespectful, or motivationally and academically inept (program specializes in mathematics and science). SOAR administration is incredibly strict on attendance and tardiness is barely tolerated (even if they’re 1 minute late) and must be cleared though Saturday-school (if permitted)!
SOAR High school is an accelerated educational plan, in which optimizes students viability, sponsorship, and readiness to enter into prominent universities. Students can start as early as 9th grade, and concomitantly attend both high school and college courses, enabling them to graduate with a high school diploma and an associate degree within four (4) or five (5) years, respectfully.

Ps. I hope that clears up any misconceptions:)

Soar High (Students on Academic Rise) High SchoolI think SOAR is amazing. It creates such a comfortable atmosphere, being that we are with people whom have the same values in educational goals that we ourselves have. The people who have comments with negative connotations are just people who clearly havent been in the environment that the principal , Mr. Dutton, and all of the Staff provide for us. Those are most likely parents whose children were removed from the program.

5I think that SOAR puts way to much stress on the students. There are very few extra-curricular activities to take their minds off of the over-load of homework and the pressure to succeed in high school AND college. This school forces the students to not only act like adults and assume the responsibility of a college student at age 14, but they do not offer much selection in activities. There is no sports program, or athletic oppurtunities either.

Soar High (Students on Academic Rise) High SchoolI think that a child loses their childhood by going to Soar. So what if they get a little ahead in their schooling? They lose their summers, their vacation days, their days to be a kid! Our kids are growing up way too quickly as it is, why do we want to push them out of childhood so quickly!! You are only a kid once!!

5SOAR High School is a great learning environment. If a student wants to complete high school and college at the same time then this is the place to go. SOAR students have a drive for success. Students here want to be successful and achieve their goals. If you want more info. on this awesome school you should go to their website because there is still more stuff that I did not mention that will grab your attention.
P.S.: SOAR High School is not 'students On The Academic Rise';SOAR High School stands for 'Students On Academic Rise':)
