jorge estrada: This school is great. I am a former student who attended since Kindergarten to the 5th grade. The teachers at this school are awesome and kids will love them. The staff at this school is well organized and they are exceptional. This school has helped me reach my true potential and has helped me reach high goals in life as i am currently attending my 2nd year of High school. Aldama has helped me out a lot especially two teachers (Ms. Baroudi and Ms Vance). I am not sure if they still teach at Aldama but if they do they are great teachers as well as all the teachers that teach at Aldama. I greatly recommend this school as a former student.

Lisa Helwig: I've been at this school two days now and I know that's not very long, but so far I'm very impressed. The place is well ordered, the staff efficient and organized, the parents committed to the childrens future and safety. They actually turn up at 6 in the morning, grandmothers included to see the kids safely inside the school gates. We have enrolled our very blonde son in the Dual Language program and we're excited about it. It's been rated a 5 school but there a miliion socio economic factors for this grading. Almada is doing everything it can to ensure every child regardless of class, colour, financial situation receives the best education available and they go to extraordinary lengths to do so. The school has set a very high bar for itself, perhaps higher than other schools, but the reality is that some of these kids will still struggle and for reasons beyond the schools control, the bottom line is if you are involved in your kids education he or she will succeed in this very nurturing and supportive environment. In defence of the kids who find things difficult, please consider the challenges they face outside of school, some of these children are homeless and if their families are a little distracted they can't be blamed for it. LA is an expensive place to live. With that in mind the school is still able to keep their API in the high 700's. I have great hopes for this school and maybe I'm idealistic, time will tell, but right now I see nothing but advantage for my son living in Highland Park learning Spanish and having fun in a school as hard working as Almada.
