The Westview SchoolPat Wheeler: My son is in 10th grade and in his third year at Westview. I feel he is getting a fantastic education, and a lot of support as well. The classes are small enough for him to get a lot of attention, but academically challenging at the same time. I find the staff caring/professional/dedicated. My son is happier than he has ever been and feels accepted and at home. I would recommend this wonderful school to anyone with a child who is a little different, or has a hard time in a large environment.

3Carol pretty much said it all. I agree about the disciplinary system. It is very arbitrary and some of the practices are geared to much younger students. The issues the kids have are not just learning differences. There are lots of kids with serious emotional problems and substance abuse issues, many try to mask their problems with drugs. Students are helped to get their diplomas though with the aid of caring teachers. Many of the kids need help this school cannot provide and many of their problems become exacerbated rather than resolved.

The Westview SchoolWill: Our son has benefited greatly from this school. He has received great support from the staff and blossomed into an excellent student and learner. Many students excel here, where they might simply have fallen through the cracks in a traditional public school setting. Discipline at Westview is no hasher than any other modern school. In addition all students have access to personal counselors that really care about, and work with the students.

5Chris: After a long and frustrating search my son was at Westview for High school. The faculty and staff did all in their power to make sure he graduated. They are caring and knowledgeable and kind . I don't think he would have made it through without them!

5Neal: This school is absolutely amazing. My child could never have made it through high school without their guidance. The staff is absolutely top notch. They care very much about the success of each student and they do a great job of prepping them for college. In many cases college would never have been an option for many of the students without their program.

3carol: This non-public school receives funds from local school districts who place students in it that they cannot serve. Nice facilities and conscientious teachers. I cannot endorse their disciplinary system. Kids at this school all have issues. Rather than use the therapy sessions provided for every student to modify behavior, old-fashion discipline is employed for the majority of instances which doesn't do much good because the root of the problem is not addressed. These kids already feel emotional pain. Why inflict more? Administrative practices could use a healthy change.
