About the CST
What is it?
The California Standards Test (CST) is an annual exam used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The CST is one of the five components of the STAR Program.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in grades 2 through 11 in English language arts and math, in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science, and in grades 8, 10 and 11 in history/social science. In grades 9 through 11, students may also be assessed in math and science, depending on course enrollment.
How is it Scored?
Students receive one of five ratings: far below basic, below basic, basic, proficient or advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

What is it?
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) is used to measure student mastery of specific skills as determined by the state. Students must pass both sections of the exam in order to graduate from high school.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Each student is assessed in grade 10 in English language arts and math. Students can retake the exam up to five times after grade 10.

Liberty High School
Poor teacher quality now, no options for kids for electives for those wanting to explore vocational opportunities. Small school that now suffers from lack of money to offer quality programs for the children. High school senior will finish but will be transfering my 8th grader to another district with more opportunities..its a shame nice exterior, but the instruction quality has suffered greatly.

Liberty High School
I think this school is declining very quickly in quality instruction and what they have to offer students. They have spent so much money in the past three years, of what little they have any longer, on outside appearances and forgotten about quality academics and investing in the complete education of our children. They do not have much to offer the high achieving students and although there are a few really good teachers, overall they seem to just be present and collecting their pay, trying much to hard to be buddies instead of role models to the kids. Numerous teachers are only teaching what they need the child to know in order to pass tests and make the district look good. They are failing our children and unfortunately so many parents are either too busy or just don't know what should be taught at what age to know just how far behind Liberty is on the academic scale. Good luck to any child graduating from Liberty. In the real world you do have homework and you are expected to work everyday! Their spending compared to the state average says it all, alot higher in administration spending and "other expenditures" and lower on instruction and student support servies...you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the problem based on those figures.
