My son started at Learning for Life School in the middle of 7th grade at a public school- after years of "failure" and "underachieving" in the traditional school setting. He was first tested to qualify for the school--he needed to meet the minimum 6th grade reading comprehension and math--he tested well into 9th grade level. He is loving his on line homeschool and is flying through his program on his own schedule and pace. He and I meet one day a week with his teacher to go over his weekly progress. I really like that I now know what and how he is doing at all times. He is progressing much faster than the traditional school setting allowed him and he really loves school for the first time.  He was just promoted to 8th grade (in the middle of the school year) and is finally feeling what it is like to be a successful and achieving student.  Some kids need an alternative way to succeed in school and this school provides that.
