My experience with Alpha-Shen comes from having both my sons attend the school.  My oldest just graduated and my youngest just started preschool. The teachers are all professional yet are also really gentle, caring and very protective of the children.  The teachers always surpass the parent’s expectation of what a teacher should be.  They would take their personal time to attend their student’s birthday party, figure out a way to attend to the child’s special needs while helping not only the children, but the parents in any different areas of academics.  The teachers are always encouraging their students to be the best they can be and to work hard to achieve their goals while they shine and grow in everyone’s eyes.  I have observed how the teachers plant the very important seed in their students from the first day of Pre-K all the way to graduating Kindergarten.  All their children come out with a confidence that no parent can imagine from a kindergartener. No matter which school the child will attend next, the student will stand above their classmates and should be proud that they are graduates from Alpha Shen.  Not only are the teachers approachable for the children, they also encourage the parents to ask questions about the curriculum as well as the child’s progress.  The teachers would go as far as to give you their personal phone number and e-mail address so that you can reach them at anytime of the day.  To my husband’s and my surprise, our oldest son came home reading a small book on his first day of kindergarten.  Our youngest son who didn’t want to go to school at first now wakes up every morning asking to go to school.  He loves the new friends as well as the teachers at Alpha-Shen.  He would ask about the teachers on the weekends and can’t wait until Monday comes for him to go back to school.  This is a wonderful place for the child to learn as well as for the parents to learn about their child’s learning capabilities with the teacher’s help.  Besides the academics, the school also focuses on crafts and fundraisers with all the proceeds going to the Children’s hospital as well as a toy and food drive for those in need.  The school not only educates the child through books, but also teaches them how to share and give to others, to think of others as well as themselves.   Thank you, Alpha-Shen for educating my children with the love and kindness that all the teachers there possess.  After my last child graduate from Alpha-Shen we will certainly go back and visit the teachers, because we will always remember them and how they help build the first step in our child’s academics.  Not only do they change our children’s lives, but they also touch our hearts with all that they do.

I am not usually one to write reviews, but when I read the other ones submitted, I thought it would be the right thing to do.  I would definitely refer others to this school and I'm sure I am not alone in this viewpoint.  Now that my oldest has graduated from this school already, I value the education, administration and attention to detail this school put forth even more than when I was there.  The teachers show so much care towards each child's learning -academically, socially and individually.  The supervision provided beats many other schools I've seen and I have appreciated it.  The school facility looks like it's been trying to stay well maintained and updated and I have not seen any issue jeopardizing the health and safety of the children.  As for fundraisers, it would be nice to not have to fundraise, but I don't think there's any place out there where us parents aren't tapped out to repeatedly raise more funds - it falls in line with the rest of the state and country's economic state, don't you think?  Of course, my review just reflects one other person's thoughts, so the best way to know is to go check out the school for yourself.  When you talk to the teachers, see the happy kids playing and learning, don't see any holes in the ceilings, you can make your own opinion.

You pay good tuition $$ for this non-profit private school, but yet they have fun raisers which parents pay a minimum amount towards it. Sounds a little strange.

I would not recomend this school to any parent that is concern with their childs health and safety. Every time it rains outside it also rains inside. I had the disatisfaction of viewing mold on one of the classroom's wall. Also their is a big hole on the seilling by the piano room. I had to take my daughter out for health reasons.

I wouldn't recomend this preschool to any parent that is concerned  with their children's education. The lack of supervision along with the aministration's anti-professionalism is  highly  doubtable.
