Oak Grove Institute Reviews
I do not recommend this school to anyone! My child was in this school for 1 1/2 years. I should have listened better. The teacher told me he did not give homework because the students would not do it. My child lost 1 1/2 years of education due to this philosphy. The kids are not safe at this school unless they are one of the many kids that run the school.
This is the absolutely WORST school you oculd ever send your child to. I believe in my heart the only good reviews on this site are probably teachers that need their jobs. The teachers and staff break down the childs spirit mentally and physically and nothing short of BEING abusive. They do not care if your child learns or has an education. It is all about just having a job and getting the funding for the school. Trust me! I allowed my child to be in this Hell hole much too long and regret it. He is still very emotioally scarred by the day to day goings on allowed here.
This school looks well organized and well run to the visitors and parents taking tours. In reality the school is much different. Many teachers are unqualified to teach the population they are dealing with. Parents should ask questions often and be actively involved in their child's education, often times what teacher claims to be doing and really is doing are polar opposites. Ask for work samples and listen to your child when hearing about their school day.
Oak Grove is a fantasitc place for children. I have had nothing but positive results and a positive experience with the staff at Oak grove. My child has gained so much during her stay
DO NOT TRUST YOUR Child to this organazation, poor communication, parent is pushed aside, my child experiences misdignosis, repeated adverse reaction, I could of lost my son due to the repeated adverse reactions.
This is a horrible place disgusting with various bugs including: rats and roaches filthy school their therapists have no idea what they are doing, I was told that I needed to be there loneger than I did they over drugged me with medication and did not get to the root of all the issues that were at hand. Once I got out of there I graduated from High School the next year which was in 2008, and now I am currently a student at Norther Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
Please look elsewhere! The communication between parent and staff is horrible. I agree with the comment before. They left my child alone and I would have never known if she was nonverbal. Other things have happened as well, but I cannot share them here. Please write to me and I will be more than happy to share. If your child has autism, please keep lokking for a better school. This one is not it.

My child is doing extremely well at Oak Grove. She has stopped running away and using drugs. Oak Grove has many other oppertunities for her. She is very involved in there arts program
My child is much better with her school and attitude towards life and its challenges
everyone at oak grove worked very hard to save my child
Think twice before you place you kid here. Look hard at the facilities, the staff (if you can tell who is staff and who isn't), and the program. Facilities are run down badly, the staff look and act like the kids, and the program is designed for paying staffers- not for helping the kids. It's high priced hard core babysitting and they do their best to keep parents out. These kids are bored out of their minds, that's not what they need. Just visit the place and trust your gut. Keep looking and you'll find another placement.
I wouldnt recommend this school to anyone who's child is in need of special treatment.
