Lack on passion.

By a Parent on

I've had my child here for 5 years already and when I first brought her to this school I was so impressed by the high test scores and the devotion on the principal and staff but mainly the principal is what sold me and my wife. It was a normal thing to see this man who held such a position in such a great school opening doors for parents dropping off there children. The dedication this man showed to the children was amazing. We would even get personalized phone calls regarding days off and so on. Since the arrival of this principal Vardoumian the school doesn't even seem to try anymore. There's no passion in what they do. Just don't see any fire for there work. There's a difference between showing up to get a paycheck and showing up because you love your work. This lady must really need that paycheck because she doesn't look to be trying very hard. She has no presence, no passion and no skills to do what she does. The children's events are mediocre, the events are always boring and badly organized and the interaction between the children and Ms Vardoumian are non existent. If it wasn't for the great teachers this school has I would pull them out and take them to stray herb elementary.

love this school so much

I went to Saticoy Elementary in 2006-2011. I absolutely loved this school and the teachers there. They are all so nice and it's a really great school. Mrs. Carmin (probably my favorite teacher ever) taught 2nd and 1st graders in 2006. Unfortunatly she retired the year i graduated. Mr. Cobin and Mrs. Kwon are great teachers too. But Ms. Choi is the best teacher ever. She was my teacher for 2 years (4th and 5th grade) she prepared me for middle school so much. She taught gifted classes and still does till this day. I always thought she was really mean and yelled at us because she didn't like us but I have a total different opinion now. I know she did it to prepare us for middle and high school. thanks to  them i will be graduating from 8th grade in June of 2014.

Very good school. Has very talented students in their Gifted Magnet Program.  Teachers have are very strict and have very high expectations to each and every student.  Programs and celebrations taken seriously and enjoyable.
