My child has been attending Toluca Lake Elementary for three years. She is in third grade. On the first day of school we found out that she has been placed into a mixed class with second graders, apparently due to budget cuts. But it looks like the budget cut reflected on some of the kids. This is upsetting because this is going to hold my kid back on her achievement. Now she is crying and does not want to go to school. Now you tell me what to think as a parent! This is nonsense.
Toluca Lake Elementary School is a very good school. The principal is really trying very hard to achieve the betterment of the school, mainly of course, academically, along with the coordinator and the teachers. I observed a great deal of hard working from them to achieve bringing up those students who were getting the low test scores to a higher test scores. I witnessed a great deal of kids succeeding with the programs they exposed the students to. I also like that the school has a cozy environment, and kids get very familiar all around the school. The principal also focuses on keeping the school bully free. She takes immediate action, and the bullying stops. That's what I like, immediate action, and teaching them at an early age. And yes, there is good parent participation, so I always recommend this school for your children, but please do get involved.
