About the CST
What is it?
The California Standards Test (CST) is an annual exam used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The CST is one of the five components of the STAR Program.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in grades 2 through 11 in English language arts and math, in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science, and in grades 8, 10 and 11 in history/social science. In grades 9 through 11, students may also be assessed in math and science, depending on course enrollment.
How is it Scored?
Students receive one of five ratings: far below basic, below basic, basic, proficient or advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
About the CAHSEE
What is it?
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) is used to measure student mastery of specific skills as determined by the state. Students must pass both sections of the exam in order to graduate from high school.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Each student is assessed in grade 10 in English language arts and math. Students can retake the exam up to five times after grade 10.
How is it Scored?
The CAHSEE is an untimed pass/fail test. The goal is for all students to pass both sections of the test.

The Best School in the PUSD by far. My son son who is a junior totally loves this school. Was very thankful I didn't send him to his home school. My daughter will be a freshman this year and is totally looking forward to starting school. This school does a good job at recognizing the students efforts. The Honors awards assembly was very nice. Keep up the good work!

Diamond Ranch High School
As a student in Diamond Ranch, I have been able to participate in many activities that I have never done before. For example, Interact, CSF, Arquitect club, Habitat for Humanity. I have also been able to interact with different people of different backgrounds and ethnicity. The teachers there are great and have a passion for teaching. Especially my Anatomy teacher. The staff and teachers work hard to implement every day a goal whether it be to be collaborative workers, effective communicaters, and maintaing high CST scores.

Diamond Ranch High School
In the 10 years that I’ve been teaching Art at Diamond Ranch High School I have always enjoyed our student artwork outcomes. In art 1, the deer eyed students, come into my class saying, “I can only draw stick people” and fear that they will fail because of their lack of art skills. With a smile I tell them to take a deep breath and let me show you the “tricks of the trade.” What they see, with surprised open eyes and wide smiles, right off is how they can create realistic drawings. Later their new found abilities leads them to express more fun and complex designs. This teaching strategy relates to all core curriculums.
As an instructor and international artist I recommend this public academic instruction without reservations.

Diamond Ranch High is a great school to attend.The grounds of this school are mixed with diffrent people from diffrent backgrounds. This mixture of people provides a beautiful place for all of its students to feel accepted. Academics, athletics and curriculm are the bases of which this school is founded on. Diamond Ranch is a school of great potential and a drive to do much with that potential.
