Kathleen: My Grandchild told me that they would be denied recess if their name was put on the "List" for minor disciplinary reasons ie: talking in class, etc. Didn't belive it until the Parents spoke to the teachers who confirmed that is the way they discipline the students, by public verbal threats, public ridicule, intimidation & denying recess ?? I printed & read the Montessori Discipline Policy & no where does it indicate that the above treatment of a child is acceptable or part of the Montessori Policy. At this point I am stunned & thinking placing my grandchild at this school has been a "Big" mistake.

Sylvia Cuellar: This is my son's first year at MMCA and the first day, he wasn't sure how to get to his classroom and the principal noticed; he stopped what he was doing and introduced himself and then proceeded to guide him to his class. This left me with a lasting impression...it indicated that the school
acknowledges and cares about their kids.
I'd like to add that one of his teacher's purchased a couple of MMCA shirts for the beginning of the school year including a gift card for a pair of new shoes. Needless to say, it made my son feel very special.
