About This School

The Brandeis School of San Francisco inspires students to lead lives of learning and purpose. We provide a challenging academic environment and a welcoming, inclusive community, each deeply enriched by Jewish thought, values and traditions.

Brandeis offers a rich, integrated, and challenging curriculum combining general and Judaic studies. Rooted in Jewish values, our approach sets high standards and pays attention to individual needs and learning styles. We create a culture that offers a lifelong career for exceptional teachers as we prepare children to thrive in challenging high school environments.

Over 95 percent of our graduates are accepted into their top first or second choice high schools. Our research indicates that high schools welcome Brandeis graduates not only for their academic strength but also for their sense of community involvement and activism.

Our teachers follow the best practices set by the most recent findings in educational research, experience, and a collaborative approach. Our faculty and administrative team actively engage in ongoing professional development.

We have a multi-faceted campus that integrates outdoor and indoor spaces into a simple-to-navigate and welcoming place. With easy access to the school from all areas of San Francisco, there’s ample parking for student drop-off, pick-up, and events. The light-filled lobby acts both as the point where students begin school, and a place where parents share coffee and catch up before heading off to their respective days.

Brandeis students become accomplished, independent, creative, and critical thinkers. A low student-to-teacher ratio (9:1) allows students to receive individual attention and sets the foundation for them to grow and lead lives of learning and purpose.

We are a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community that nurtures children in a way that helps them adopt our core values, particularly values of moral courage, ethical behavior, kindness and civic commitment. We believe this foundation sets The Brandeis School apart from other school communities.

At Brandeis, our students and families are embraced by our open and nurturing community, one that finds purpose and connection in Jewish ethics, actions, and tradition.

The minute I walked into the school for a school tour 7 years ago, it felt like home.  The teachers are just amazing, the sense of community, school values, great education, and warm, safe atmosphere - this is exactly the environment I want my kids to be in.  We love Brandeis-Hillel!
