It is true that ECA is NOT the school it used to be!!! We are now well on the path to becoming a fantastic and vibrant model charter school for SF and the 21st century. The staff changes have been limited to the principal and finding an individual with the same commitment and vision that the staff and community holds. That being said, the majority of the teachers have been at the school for at least 5 years and are committed to top notch education in a great K-8 community setting!! We are NOW a fully independant charter school and are no longer held back by being run by a for profit company! Our future is limitless!

Not the school it used to be. With the numerous staff changes the students as well as the school have suffered. I would steer clear of this school. Unless you have lots of time to monitor the teachers and staff. No one else is doing it!

About the CST
What is it?
The California Standards Test (CST) is an annual exam used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The CST is one of the five components of the STAR Program.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in grades 2 through 11 in English language arts and math, in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science, and in grades 8, 10 and 11 in history/social science. In grades 9 through 11, students may also be assessed in math and science, depending on course enrollment.
How is it Scored?
Students receive one of five ratings: far below basic, below basic, basic, proficient or advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
