School Mission Statement
Everett Middle School is a school on the move. Our motto is Dream Big, Work Hard and Give Back! At Everett Middle School, we are committed to being an exemplary school where students are empowered to become lifelong learners and agents of change to better the community.
This is the first year in over 6+ years that the school has had the same principal, assistant principal, instructional coach and counseling staff as last year. We are a strong, vibrant, tight-knit team that has put the structures and support needed to finally turn our school and reputation around. Our hallways are dramatically different. Students are in class, engaged and learning. Teachers are coming together on a daily basis in common planning time to look at student work, plan lessons and move our kids up. Every Friday, homeroom teachers gather with their students in Community Circles to address bullying, teasing and racism. On our minimum days, the staff receives regular professional development to continue raising the bar with our instruction.
We have a new Spanish Immersion Program and we are starting a PTA. Our parents are asking tough questions and holding us to high standards. Student leaders are in the hallways keeping the peace, mediating peer conflicts and getting their classmates to step it up. Seventeen of our staff members have moved on and we have infused the school with new, innovative talent that is taking our school by storm. It is a completely different school. Please come see yourself, we offer tours weekly on Wednesdays at 9:00AM.
