Jim Thorpe Fundamental Elementary School Reviews

This school is great. I think that the students that struggle should be pulled out. It falls on the parents if their child is not getting all education they can receive from Thorpe. All we here these days is how should we  educate our children to a higher degree of education. The thing is some parents want to only blame the teacher, principal, and others if their child is not doing well because the workload is to much, they believe it is never their fault because they work to much or some other excuses. If the parent and the child is not committed for the hard work that goes into a higher learning program then don't go to Thorpe, because  one will only complain about this and that, if one is committed to a higher education then this a great choice. Jim Thorpe is basically a private school education which comes free to the public.

Worst experience having my child go to this school. Teacher is very rude and non communicative. Talking to principal does not help because they end up siding with teachers as opposed to listening to parent's concerns. Tried discussing a matter about my child and teacher had even hung phone up on me and spoke to me very disrespectfully. They do not treat each child as an individual and expect them to all be at same level. I understand that there are rules and they expect a certain standard but they take it to a whole other level. Regret putting my child here, thought we would be getting an excellent education because of school ratings but instead was an awful experience. I have also voiced my concerns to a few people and they have also heard from different friends that they also pulled their children out because of same problems.  Would not recommend am sending my child to their home school.

I AGREE WORST MISTAKE EVER!!!!!!

Very proud parent! Would not think of sending my children anywhere else. Congratulations students and teachers for the well earned "Blue Ribbon Award".

Demanding school. My children are both enrolled, and have been there for the last 4 years. Some teachers are amazing, others... not so much. Overall, a positive experience, and my children are learning a lot. I wish the kids could be more expressive, but I am biased since I am an artist. I have learned to temper the strictness of the school with a more down to earth, common sense approach to learning at home -- not by any means undermining the school's efforts, but a way to take some stress out of the high demands at school.

Mrs. Karman is AMAZING -- best kindergarten teacher I have ever met. What a fantastic heart and love for children and man can she teach reading! She instills very important core skills and values -- among them: health, reading/literacy, curiosity and learning, adventure, fun! She sees the children for the human beings that they are. Just goes to show you -- a child can be impacted at any age.
