Paloma Elementary School

I love our school!  Our Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Reynolds was amazing, fun, and very creative and our 1st grade teacher this year, Mrs. Mason is wonderful as well.  She really dedicates herself to making sure each and every student has a variety of ways to learn, to meet their needs.  My child is excited about school every day.  The principal of our school, Mrs. Johnson is very dedicated to the school.  She knows each and every one of the over 700 children at our school by name.  She promotes positive reinforcement, team work, and pride in one's achievements above most anything else.  Our teachers, staff and PTA do everything possible to make sure that our kids have a rich learning environment, with family activities, awesome Friday flag salutes which are often celebrations and are always full of students displaying school pride, Masters of the Arts programs, music and science programs, as well as many other enrichment programs.  We even have 2 wonderful gardens, that provide our kids with a chance to learn about growing things and taking care of the environment as well as providing them with opportunities to try healthy foods they may not have otherwise tried before.  
I was nervous about sending my first born off to school for the first time and am happy to share that I could not have asked for a better school.  The only negative I would say is the size of the auditorium, but that is more of a reflection on the district and whoever designed it.  It's too small for the amount of people that should be accommodated for events, making it so that many events have to be held outside, even when the temps get near or above 100 degrees.  Other than that, the school is beautiful and welcoming and a wonderful place for any child to be educated at.  

This is by far the BEST school for my daughter, they have put my daughter's best interest's first.  She just started attending this Jan,  she had a rough start but, once we got a plan in place she seems more involved and happy to go to school than in her last 4 schools she had been to.  I am so grateful to the staff and her teacher for her dedication.  I am sure this next school year is going to be much better for my daughter.
 

Lisa Pritchard: My daughter has attended Paloma since Kindergarten and is now a 5th grader. Each year she has received a very motivated, caring and talented teacher to guide her through the year. My daughter's reading skills have always been a bit behind the requirements, but each year the diffrent teachers have worked with her improve her reading and we have been able to avoid summer school. I would highly recommend this school to any parent in the area...Go Panthers!
