Silverado High School Reviews
Parents should be ashamed of themselves for the lack of moral conduct and value system some have not taught their children. As a parent I have the responsibility of teaching my children respect not only for teachers but the mere fact that they can go to school, better themselves and be a positive influence on our younger generation. Learning starts at home at a very young age. What we see today is students that look as if they just woke up, slept in their clothes all night, haven't done their homework and I'm not sure who approved the dress code but waiting until the last of the school year to enforce the dress code was just weak. If our school district does not take the problems with the students serious then the students are not going to take the authorities serious. School is one big social party to many of the students and I want to know if this is how my hard earned tax dollars are being allotted. Maybe with the 2012-2013 school year the district and teachers will be more proactive.
I believe Silverado is a great school there are many different teachers that care alot about there students and do everything they can to help them get the eduacation they need. Siverado is known for lots of fights but honestly it depend on the type of child you are. The staff at Silverado do everything they can to make sure we are safe.
SLIVERADO HIGH SCHOOL IS A VERY GOOD SCHOOL! YOU JUST HAVE TO STAY TO YOUR SELF AND LEARN HOW TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSE UNLESS YOUR BE IN A LOT OF DRAMA BUT OTHER THAN THAT THEY HAVE VERY GOOD TEACHERS AND VERY GOOD SPORT
before i went to silverado i was very bad and when i started going there it changed me i not have good grades not only because the choice i made bt because of the teachers their wonderful and careful now im wanting to graduate from there proudly
I think when a parent goes to drop their children off they hope they are going to be ok and taken care of. On 2 different occasions I have dropped my daughter off and saw the school staff security engaging with our children in a manner where now my child is at Victor High. I think they should teach their security guards some work ethics in security.
I am currently a student attending Silverado and I do not like the school. There are ALOT of fights, It is very crowded, and some of the teachers simply dont care about the students, it's like they are there because they HAVE to be. DO NOT send your students here!!!
Hi, I graduated from Silverado, Class of 2010, Silverado is a great school. There are so many great and dedicated teachers that actually care about each student. The sports programs are some of the best in the High Desert, it has one of the highest counts of AP classes in the state, and has lots of resources at each student's disposal. The career center helped me a lot in my search for the right school and even scholarships to help me pay for that school. As far as discipline goes, Silverado is similar to most other high schools. It gets a lot of bad publicity from the local newspaper, but most of it is fake, very exaggerated, or they conveniently leave out that it happened near Silverado and the person involved was not even a student. It is rumored that drugs pass through Silverado very often. I'm going to be honest, I did not see any the entire time I went there, but you will have the typical bad kids. Overall, I would recommend this high school to anyone who is moving, or considering moving, to the high desert, it is a great place to go,and I wouldn't trade the four years I spent there for the world.
Silverado high school didnt really impress me at first when i saw it but the teachers there are great an are there to help you get to college.
I am a Parent of a special ed Teen. I am considering moving to the High Desert, this was one school that was on my list. I am however concerned that this school doesn't have the proper tools to be able to teach my Teen what he needs to know. Does anyone know about the special ed program at this school?
My child attended Silverado in 2008-2009, and I'm sorry to say I was not impressed with the school. The crime rate at the school appeared to be higher than test scores. The situation on campus was such a mess that the San Bernadino County Sheriff had a dedicated deputy on campus. The school had a real inner city atmosphere to it. Quite ghetto to be honest. If you are moving to the area and seeking advice regarding educational options for your child. I would recomend home schooling, or simply not relocating to begin with. They did have a pretty good football team.
as a former student of silverado high school i have nothing but good things to say about the environment in which i was taught there. when i graduated in 2006 i left the school knowing they had not only prepared me for college, they had prepared me for life and what it had in store for me in the future. the rock solid AP/honors curriculum helped me not only academically, but taught me how to flourish in a line of work where i am constantly challenged by factors of which i can rarely control.
I believe that Silverado is underestimated, and I believe that both the school and the students have great potential, but the students there don't always strive their hardest to achieve their goals. Overall I think that Silverado is a great school.
I believe this school is doing better. The test scores are usually low, like any other school simply because certain students do not care and do not wish to amount to anything. But that is only a few of them. There are multiple kids here that do rise to the occasion and strive for passing test scores. The school does have its tiffs here and there, but what school doesn't? Silverado is trying, they have introduced a new tardy policy and they are getting much more strict on the way we behave. So it's not all bad all the time, even though many people give the school a horrible reputation for being filled with ignorant children. (:
i am a student at silverado. the teachers i have had wants us to succeed and go futher than most people think. the school is becomming better, starting now the extended campus is now home to a branch of the SBCC. which will provide college classes to students and parents in this area. the school has recently open up a new locker room and has built 2 nice baseball fields. they are curently trying to build a football statium. i am a football player at the school. and the coaches are good. i believe the school can get better with grass and shade. the school is loosing money so that is at the bottom of the list. but i can proudly say i am glad to be a hawk and hope to see this school become the best in the high desert.
it has low standards for the kids and i know because im a student that goes there and i know that the school is becoming broke, and the test scores are low but that doesnt mean that we have to give up even the teachers dont care will some dont and thats were the lazy students think that thats tight or cool will it will be cool when you are looking for a job at 24 years old still. Thats what the man behind the certain wants to do and be dumb o well im not going to fall with the school like most people are im going to rise
