What is it?
The Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students in grades 3 through 10 are assessed in reading, math, and writing. Students in grades 5, 8, and 10 are assessed in science.
How is it Scored?
Students are scored at four levels: unsatisfactory, partially proficient, proficient, and advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

The CELA is used to measure a student's mastery of the state's content standards in English proficiency for English language learners.
Which Grades and Subjects?
All K-12 students who have been identified as having a language background other than English in the state of Colorado participate in a statewide assessment in the areas of English proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, listening and comprehension.
How is it Scored?
Students are scored at five levels: beginner, early intermediate, intermediate, proficient, and advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
