Overland High School Reviews
A good school...
as a senior in overland highschool i would say this is a good school, alot of people are saying bad things about it. If your student is not doing as well as u wanted than its could be your daughter/son's fault. Mabey the teacher but you really have to try and this schools does a good job with helping me find what collage is good or what you want to do after highschool. I have mabey seen one time where someone was bullied. Last year the seniors voted a girl with a disabilty homecomeing qween. what schools have you seen that before. beacuse i have not.... I mean its not the best school ever but i love it
i think overland is a great school and has many great academic and atheletic activities!!(:
Both of my children have graduated from Overland High School within the past 3 years. They received a quality education as reflected in both their ACT (33) and SAT scores. Many of the teachers at this school are passionate about teaching and love working in such a diverse school. Diversity is one of this school's strengths. My children enjoyed friendships with others from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I consider this a huge advantage since this is the world they will live and work in.
Great school, though the teachers here aren't all that open about ideas. Become very strict and difficult for new freshman in the 2009-2010 school year. Like every school it has it's ups and downs...Overall good classes 3/5 on average =]
Overland is an extraordinary school. It is the first school to provide students with a program that offers automatic acceptance to 4 major colleges in Colorado, such as Colorado School of Mines and CU Denver. And, as thee most diverse school in the state, the students learn how to work with all sorts of students. What seperates Overland from the famous Cherry Creek"Creek" High School is this: Creek students are almost all white, Overland is very diverse. Overland test scores depend on a students actions, Overland might not have the brightest students like Creek, but there are students that excel and have been accepted to schools such as Harvard and Yale. So don't say Overland is a bad school, the teachers are great and it all depends on the students actions, not the teachers.
I love Overland and whoever is saying negative things about it should be quiet. The students do not achieve because they choose not to. The decision for the students to achieve is left up to that student not the school. Overland has been judged horribly and that's not reality. I would not feel comfortable at any other school, and before judging or saying anything try going here.
One of the worst cherry creek schools i've had my son be apart of. I moved him away from smoky hill highschool to overland for better education and still nothing, both smoky hill and overland deserve to be out of the cherry creek school district.
