Meridian Elementary School

We had a dismal experience at Meridian. Children were put in front of a screen to watch Disney movies so often that I called the Principal to ask whether she knew what was happening. She said she did not. Nothing was done. There were an inordinate number of "special" days during which our kids did nothing academic other than have parties and watch movies. Our son complained of having almost nothing to do all day, and he came home with piles of drawings and complaints of boredom. My 4th grade child was told that it was okay if she couldn't memorize her math facts, that some kids can't do this. We've enrolled at a charter school for next year, where teachers are held accountable for their efforts.
