Heather Looomis: Our kids have been at King Murphy since preschool. They and we love the school. It is a certified IB World School with long time, dedicated teachers who really know how to love on the kids. Class sizes are usually small from 15-25 max and the teachers can give lots of individual attention. Parents are very actively involved in helping out in the classrooms and in fundraising and field trips and activities.  Our boys are in the 6th grade now and we feel they have been well prepared to be independent and successful in thier middle school years.

Sharon: King-Murphy is an exception elementary school- absolutely the best in the county and the best in Evergreen for academics. It is a small, close-knit community of learners. Both of my children have attended from pre-school, and although it is off the beaten path, the quality of education is worth the extra driving time. The school has recently been named in the top ten best schools in the entire state and also recently implemented the International Baccalaureate program and is now an IB World School. Superb teachers, great PTA, and many, many caring and education-minded families comprise the King-Murphy community of learners.

My child had several very good teachers. She did grow, and progress. My main problem with King-Murphy is the bus ride from the Floyd Hill ride-stop. This bus ride is 45 minutes (minimum) each way. This bus ride is a tremendous waste of time and 3/4 of the trouble over a two year period experienced by my child were "bus" incidents/behavioral problems due to no supervision. There was one incident of extremely poor judgment of a bus driver with my child being injured. My second complaint about King-Murphy is the unnecessary number of field trips which I believe are limited in their educational nature. I also disagree with the unnecessary shuffling of students at such a young age from class to class.
