Greenwich Academy Reviews
A school that remains true to its motto
I'm an alumna, and graduated more than 30 years ago. But I am still involved with the school and have gotten to know some of its current students. I know everyone in the fundraising and alumnae affairs office, and I've also spent time with Molly King. GA is a really wonderful school. To keep girls and budding young women grounded in a town like Greenwich is not easy. GA is true to its motto, Toward the Building of Character. Ms. King does not favor the wealthy. Quite the contrary. True, most of the students are moderately wealthy to extremely wealthy. But there are more scholarships and financial aid than there used to be. The person who gave GA one star and tried to discredit Ms. King, she makes a lot of declarations but gives no examples. Sometimes complaints like these come from parents who are shocked to find that GA will discipline their daughter for smoking, drinking or some kind of nasty behavior. Girls have been expelled, and in one case a powerful family removed all their daughters from the school because the family though that an exception should be made. If I had a daughter, I'd send her to GA.
The truth about this school.
Having had my daughter in this school for many recent years, I despise the way the Headmistress, Molly King, had dragged some students and their families trough the mud until they could not take it anymore and left, or made them leave.
Her speeches are such a pile of lies, that make me sick.
While the school provides an amazing education, the dirty politics they play in that school is a disgrace.
Not to mention the favoritisms the play when it comes to wealthy and powerful families over scholars, or any less privilege students and families.
Even professionals who have been working with students from every school in Greenwich, outside of G.A. told me the worst stories come from G.A. when it comes to social issues, bullying, and abuse to the families.
I do want to make this clear: the teachers are amazing!!!! but they all work under strict dictatorship of Molly King.
We all want our children to get a wonderful education, but not at such a high price with a school which will destroy the student spirit.
