Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School Reviews
The atmosphere permissive and more likely to look at "back talk" or poor behavior as an expression of student diversity. There is a lack of follow through as teachers try to please kids in an atmosphere that fosters self esteem but not work or discipline. It is not realistic preparation for what comes next. The seventh-grade class as of 2011 behave so poorly that many classes have been described as being in a "crisis" state.
I think this school needs to get their act together! They allow children to stay after without permission. They give back graded papers and give the kids 0 for work they graded and returned. It is hard to get a hold of anyone after hours to see if your children are there. My kids also complain that the teachers have a problem controlling the students in there class, not to mention they have no books for kids either. I wish I did not have to send my children there and plan on looking for alternate education for them outside of New London!
I love Benny Dover. I am in the 8th grade and the education that we recieve is accurate and helpful. I am going to miss this school once im in 9th grade. I plan on visting this school next year and all of my past teachers.
