Putnam Elementary School Reviews
Integrity and Persistence...
I am a grandparent of a child that attends Putnam Elementary. I give high praise to the wonderful and dedicated teachers. I attended Putnam Elementary as well as Putnam High many years ago. I am proud that my grandson gets the education he deserves. My grandson is entering 2nd grade in 2014. In first grade, he had trouble reading, by the end of the 1st grade his reading comprehension has blown us away. The student/teacher ratio is low which is a wonderful thing, because this means the student has the opportunity to succeed. It provides more 1 on 1 with the student. When he told us he was in an intervention class we were concerned, but in speaking with the teacher its more of that 1 on 1 learning that students get. In bigger schools students are sometimes left behind when all they need is more open communication and direction of what their expectations are in school. The students at Putnam Elementary follow a strict schedule, which we never had when I went to school. Each hour of their day is clearly defined. So now with summer here, I try to follow that same rule so my grandson knows what our expectations are here at home and he likes that structure as well. You can check out the Putnam Elementary School Putnam CT website and locate the staff, they have lots of useful information located there, like menus, teachers and schedules, school calendar !!!
