Building Blocks Learning Center is located in Wallingford, CT. It is a private, early childhood program/day care center school that serves 17 students in grades PK,K. Building Blocks Learning Center is coed (school has male and female students) and is nonsectarian in orientation. The school belongs to the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Unfortunately, we also had a bad experience at Building Blocks. Although the facility and grounds are very nice, there are often too many children to teachers. They don't always follow state of CT safety regulations. The teachers are very young and not always knowledgeable on latest SIDS and health and safety advice. Director was very nice when we went for an interview, then barely saw or spoke to her again. They could be great if they fixed the ratio/safety issues. When I tried to complain about it, the director and director's daughter made it very uncomfortable for our family until we finally left.
Do not send your child to this school. There are too many kids and not enough teachers. My 3 year old was labeled a wanderer since he was found in different areas of the building. If there werent too many kids in the classroom, the teacher would have been able to watch him and make sure that didnt happen. He was also subjected to mental and emotional abuse by being pulled into a parent teacher conference in which nothing good was said about him. He left red faced & in tears. This school is not a good place. Its all about how much money they can make and not about the kids.
