Teague Middle School Reviews
Teague Middle School has a great new Principal, Mr. McCants. I've had the pleasure of meeting with him over an issue I was having with one of my child's teachers, and he was fair, helpful and the situation was resolved. I never felt like he was taking either side instead he worked hard to come to a middle ground that everyone was happy with. My child has since improved in the class and the teacher has improved. No school is perfect but so far everything has gone really smooth. They have great programs and my only complaint is that the teachers are working against the clock to get grades entered and can sometimes cause some confusion over the current grades through Skyward. My child has had no issues of bullying, teachers are nice, work is hard, and so far I like the school. Have you seen Sanford MS? That place is awful !
This school is just plain not good. From how FCAT was set up this year, cafeteria food, and even the teachers. I will admit, our school is not the only school in which things can be improved on, but Teague is the only middle school I have gone to and I have realized in the two years I have gone here, things still amaze me of how bad everything is. Did you know during the lunch, we are not allowed to rise from our tables, unless we raise our hands? Do you know how many students there are in the cafeteria? About 500 in each lunch. Oh, and if you get up and move around in any way and a teacher catches you, you get a Wednesday or Saturday detention, no arguments allowed. Also, only one girl is allowed into the bathroom at a time. This would be acceptable if the bathrooms had only one toilet or sink, but no, there are three bathrooms! And three sinks also. The entire school system is VERY messed up because it seems these days, people seem to care more if students chew gum in class or speak without raising their hands, than using correct grammar or figuring out the surface area of a cube. We are treated like four year olds, and therefore act like young children.
I think Teague is great and i love everyhing about it
We had a wonderful middle school experience with the "gifted" program and teachers. Mrs Sherman is one of the most dedicated teachers I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I was saddened to see that the gifted program had morphed into a gifted/honors program. It seems to hold back the gifted students. Also the situation with which the students are treated in the cafeteria is ridiculous. How do you expect them to become young adults when they are treated like grade schoolers?!
