About This School
Magnet schools are public schools that offer a specialized curriculum or educational philosophy, often with a specific focus or theme. Don Estridge High Technical Middle School Reviews
I love this school!!!! Although all my friends from elementary school are at omni now, (only 4 people are chosen from my school to attend each year :/ ...) I have new friends and the teachers are awesome, the school is really clean i have noticed, and all the staff is awesome! Mr.Benson the principal is really funny to! The teachers really help, they will give you a LOT of homework but as you will realize it helps a lot especially when they give you a pop quiz.... also the school teaches us more then we need to so that by the time we reach 9th "grade we will be ahead of the game"! But be aware if you are trying to get in be aware that your friends might not get in as well since they only pick so few from each school to attend every year.. The school is also very competitive were undefeated in most of our sports areas, and the jazz band is really good! also, the electives we can get are really cool, I have adv technology and piano, but theirs also stuff like drama and culinary (which i drool almost every time i pass the room!) as well as P.E and more i don't know of! There are multiple opportunity's to get ahead as well! (like if your in adv math if you do a bit of extra homework and take this test they will put you in a 9th grade math class, as well as you can be in an adv Photoshop course)
AHhhhh there is so much to right about this school! I usually don't post reviews but i love this school!
"The Don" is an awesome school. I highly recommend it! From the beginning, I was impressed with so many things. There was a helpful new parent orientation, which was very organized and informative. The school is very safe (no/minimal bullies), no dudes with attitudes, no drugs, and it is impeccably clean. The teachers are very knowledgeable, helpful, caring, organized, positive people who use unique and creative ways to teach. They remind students of homework and upcoming tests. They go the extra mile to offer help! The administration, office staff and guidance staff is very helpful too. Any emails or problems were handed quickly and responded to. The courses included today's technology as promised. The only negative thing was the adaptation socially. Keep in mind only a certain amount, ie, 3-5, students from a lot of different schools in the county get picked for the lottery. Your child will not know many people going into the school. This could be a big adjustment if your child was socially active in elementary school.
Well my child goes there and it's a wonderful school to put your child in!
My son is entering the 6th grade this year and we are looking forward to a great school year and wonderful academic achievements from him. I am a very involved parent and hope to be involved in the school programs as much as I will be allowed. My son was introduced to Don Estridge in the summer as he attended soccer camp along with his brother. He loved it and won first place certificate for scoring and 3rd place for something else. I have checked into the school's academic achievements and sports achievements and they are both impressive. When our friends and acquaintances heard my son was accepted he became the envy of all. Don Estridge represents excitement and expectations for us and we are looking forward to great things.
