kari k.: Last year my daughters teacher put on a movie in class that is not allowed per School Board policy in ANY elementary school without the permission of the parents. I called the principal, she spoke with the teacher.... the VERY NEXT day, she put the same movie in to let them watch the second half. Then this year, the school implemented a uniform policy that they have not enforced ALL year. Then the last 5 weeks of school decided to enforce and even removed my son from class, for the entire day because he did not have the proper shorts on. Suspension, of any kind, according to the School Boards policy is not allowed for a uniform violation, only the Dress Code in the Code of Conduct manual. BUT BRE does what they want. Here is my complaint letter to the School Board listing what is wrong with BRE's policy: http://kariksrants.blogspot.com/2012/04/braden-river-elementary-ignores.html?spref=fb

Most of the teachers and office staff are not friendly!!! My children do not enjoy going to school anymore. I only have 2 more years to deal with their nasty personalities...

I have one daughter who attended all her elementary years at this school and I have one who is going into 3rd grade this year. This is a A Rated school. I have not had a teacher for either of my girls that I did not think was top notch. The whole staff has a very positive attitude and they all enjoy children. I would not have my kids go to any other school. The campus is very safe and I am always informed of activities or issues on campus when they arrive.

This could be a great little neighborhood school if they would update and increase staff training with more innovative teaching styles.  Updated teaching information regarding specialities would make this school more attractive to everyone and give the kids a better prospective on the realities of life.  School renovations such as fencing are also needed to make it as safe as other area schools.  Academics are good but taught without variation regardless of  learning styles.
