Kingswood Elementary School Reviews

By , a Parent on

I love the fact that both Mrs Caseber (kg) and Ms Mosley (1st) put more emphasis on the responsibility of a child as they grow. My husband wasn't too thrilled with all the homework, but it was a way to teach responsibility and the concequences of not taking on that responsibility. I understood that and welcomed it because there needs to be more teachers that want to teach LIFE LESSONS as well as the ones in the book. Teachers are NOT babysitters, they are learning instructers. Parents are a childs FIRST and MAIN instructer throughout life. Somewhere along the lines a lot of people began to believe that its a teachers job to teach our kids with out harming them when they mouth off because of a parents bad parenting. Teachers choose to spread enlightenment at a stage in a childs life when the child has the most respect for a person who gives them respect back. My experience at Kingswood was wonderful! Riley and Orion is looking forward to a second year. The only thing that I am NOT looking forward to is the older heavyset woman who can't seem to stop talking about students matters in front of other visitors and students in the office at front. As well as the way the car line is set up (but that is something that we'll just have to deal with).  The last thing that has definately been bothering me is how much money the school spends on shirts. All of that money could have gone directly to what really needed it. I understand school pride, bumperstickers, etc., but is a shirt going to help my child read? Write? Hire a special needs teacher like the woman mentioned before this post. That is what you can do a fundraiser for, help raise money for a special needs teacher... get the media on board and you'll have all the money you need.
