I am so very thankful for Lighthouse Center for Creative Learning!   Our daughter received a solid education in all areas while attending this school.   She began kindergarten there, and attended for five years.  Not only was she taught  to read, write, and understand math, she was taught how to love others.  She has attended two schools since Lighthouse, and has been a straight A student in every class. Her teachers have commented many times on her ability to be a leader, and have also commented about the respect she shows teachers and students in and out of the classroom.   She has received awards of excellence in her classes and scored the highest grade given on her FCAT in Reading this year as well.  Thank you Lighthouse for not only a great beginning in her education, but also for teaching her the value of loving others and understanding that we can make a difference in this world by caring for those around us!

Lighthouse is a great school. If you want a team of dedicated teachers and administration, you' ll find it here. Teachers are skilled to meet the needs of every student.  They provide a safe and comfortable environment.  Lighthouse also offers many options for special needs students. I am very pleased with their multisensory approach in teaching academics.  They also offer new therapy scientifically proven to help students cognitive development, speech and occupational therapy all in one place.

Butch: The comment that LCCL is very challenged because we are advocates for the inclusion of students with special needs into mainstream classrooms deeply saddens me. LCCL offers self-contained, hands-on classrooms for our students with more severe learning disabilities, and when possible, we do mainstream some students who have mild disabilities. Our staff was trained this past year, and so were our students! Every year we offer peer sensitivity training, and we celebrate our differences. Our lives have been enriched by embracing these students, and I can assure you that the SAT test results of our higher achieving students show that no one suffered. I am proud of what we accomplished this year, and we did it TOGETHER!

LCCL is a a very challenged school.  It does not know if it is a "regular" school or a school for special needs.  It's is a mix of both students in the same classrooms.  This causes issues for the teachers as well as students.  The teachers are tasked with educating both types of students every day in which both students suffer.  The teachers at the school are very good...even exceptional but tasked to do too much.
