St Barnabas Episcopal School
: Wound not recommend.  My child attended this school since he was five but when he started to have difficulties keeping up with the other students in 5th and then 6th grade we were brought into the office and told we had to take our child out of their school and go somewhere else.  They would not offer tutoring or any kind of assistance other than maybe finding another school (but not their school).  We were only 4 weeks into the school year.  My son was crushed and so was I.  I put him in that school for the one on one education but they apparently could not and would not offer this when things became difficult.  I was so disappointed and crushed that a Christian school could just dismiss a child this easily.  How do you explain to your child that the school doesn't want you there anymore and you have to go somewhere else.......he's still trying to adjust.

: This school is the best you can find in Central Florida, across the board!  We have been at St. Barnabas for twelve years.  Have had 2 students begin in PreK and graduate.  Have 2 more students still there.  I cannot recommend this school highly enough.  The academics are extraordinary.  The athletic program is also extraordinary.  As my 2 oldest have gotten higher and higher in school, the marked difference between their level of values, morals and integrity has become more and more evident, especially as they have become more and more co-mingled with other students from other environments.   Their level of preparation for high school and their performance since getting to high school after having received the level of primary education that they did at St. Barnabas is remarkable.  I attribute that first to what they receive at home, but also to the level of commitment and dedication of the school faculty and administration.    In my 12 years at St. Barnabas, I have been highly involved and would say that 95% of parents are overwhelmingly satisfied with the investment that they are making and that 95% of students are happy and satisfied with their school experience.  No matter where you are, there will be people that are unhappy, but I believe very strongly that anyone who has been unhappy at St. Barnabas has and will be unhappy almost anywhere.

Beware of this school. The experience in younger grades was good for us with good teachers. Later years were more like a nightmare with inept and unkind teachers. Administration backs teachers without regard for facts and refuses to listen. Initially there was good dialog with teachers and a collaborative spirit, until the administration refused to let us meet with teachers. Their excuse was that the teachers were too busy to meet with parents regularly. Athletics are a joke. Your child can be a starter and receive preferential coaching on any team if you are related to the administration or donate plenty of money. As for character development, there are nice signs and lots of pretty brochures, but we found bullying, lying and deceit to be prevalent on part of students as well as teachers. Conversations with other parents revealed similar experiences. We would put younger children in the school again, but move them before getting to middle school.

: I find the teachers and staff to be very helpful, loving, and kind. The curriculum is excellent.  The grounds are beautiful, historic, and cozy.  I am very happy with the overall experience of all four of my children attending ST. Barnabas. I am thankful our children have a school in which they are taught excellence and especially about God and His son Jesus Christ.

A very satisfied parent.
