This week, it’s a second-grader suspended for a day for using his finger as a pretend gun.
Yes, an eight-year-old was sent home from your school 10-2013 after administrators at Harmony Community School in Harmony, Florida, concluded that the gesture was an act of violence. School district officials have told the press that their code of conduct prohibits students from playing with invisible guns.
The teacher and principal should be fired for this!!! All little boys use their fingers to pretend like it is a gun. They have done this for centuries. What is wrong with all of you! This is insane. Suspending a little innocent child for using his imagination. Shame on you. Homeschool is the answer!
I have always thought of homeschooling my daughter, but the fact that he has always excelled at this school prevented me from doing so. My daughter began having difficulties this year, not in her academics, but other areas and my husband and I made the decision to homeschool. As far as their academics and standings in the county and state, they are fine. Unfortunately, the school standings and whether it's an "A" school won't be what my daughter remembers years from now.
