Greenland Pines Elementary School Reviews

I agree with the above statement.  While there are a few teachers that actually teach, and care, the rest are lazy and are happy to be in a good area so there work is easier.  I had to switch my daughter immediately because of the disgrace of a teacher she had.  Loud, rude, obnoxious and totally not there for the right reasons.  Thankfully, I knew the right people and after brief arguing I got my wish.  I am doing everything in my power to get our family down to St Johns before one of those lazy teachers tries to sabotage my childs education.

I have a question, I'm thinking of moving to Jacksonville from Puerto Rico and my daughter will be attending this school.  She knows a little of English, but her first language is Spanish.  Do this school offers help with this matter?

What the school is asking of children is just stressful and most are not mentally ready for such materials. If the child is not keeping up then TOO BAD and just better hope for a sympathetic teacher who wants your child to NOT BE LEFT BEHIND. Teachers are overworked and underpaid, but they took the job knowing that they are required to care for the students in their class. It worries me the lack of check and balances not in place to make sure your child is working at required levels. This is very serious and with FCAT being so important, the teacher at all levels need to pay attention and ask for help from their advisors/front administration asap to keep the student from falling behind. Please, ask for county and state funds to get Greenland Pines up to today's times. The lack of technology is upsetting and this is the way of the world whether we like it or not. So, as of today I am stressed and worried for my children that do attend GPE.

Great school, excellent teachers. They are willing to listen to parents and work with students that need more attention. A great place to live and a great school to go to.

Vey Disappointed in this school.  The teachers do not teach to the level we are accostomed to.  My children are following behind.  The teachers are unable or willing to teach.
