Certain grades have wonderful teachers, some of the others are okay. Administration is average at getting back to the parent.

I have long awaited the day when my kids would go to school. I have a 5 and 3 year old. My husband and I have been at BellaLago community since it opened, and were excited to hear that they would have a charter school for our children.
My child will be starting his first year this term 09-10, and so far all I could provide is negative feedback as to the way the registration and information process has been handled thus far. I am disappointed and sadden by this, because I was really looking forward to this experience. I had always heard negative feedback about the schools administration and staff, but thought it would be better by the time my children were old enough to attend the school. I know the school term has not officially begun and I must give the school a chance, but first impressions are everything. And the one I received on registration day rates very low, in my professional standards.
There was disorganization, miscommunication and lack of professionalism on behalf of some the staff (not teachers). This is NOT their first year, it's a process that they should have perfected by now.
I await to see what the rest of the year will bring.

Unfortunately, based on reviews, many agree that the administrative staff attitude is less to be desired. It is a shame because our children are being led by these adults in this school and children are led by example. I am a new parent of 3 months and have to agree with many others that the majority of the office staff are rude and very unprofessional. I had a child in Kindergarten and a child in 2nd grade and I never saw my daughters teacher after the first day I dropped her off nor heard from her unless I sent in a note. I even received an apology that the days had slipped away and it was a shame she had not been able to meet with me. As far as the principal, I introduced myself to her 2 days before the 2009 school year ended. I had never seen her and it isn’t because I am not an involved parent. I attended all functions in which I was invited to because I want to part of the school but have not seen the principal at the events I participated in. (Plays, International Night, Mothers Day Lunch or Kindergarten Picnic.) I also feel very isolated as a parent because day after day I stare at cars and am not able to connect with other parents of the school nor able to freely speak to the children’s teachers as you never see them while you drop them off or pick them up. I rate this school very poorly and hope that it changes in the upcoming year.
