About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. Hillcrest Elementary School Reviews
I think Hillcrest is a very good school. This school has gotten my kids to enjoy learning and to join group and activities that I did not think the would ever be interested in. I give this school five stars.
My family moved to Lake Wales in the middle of my 5th grade year in school. I went to Hillcrest. We moved around alot, and I attended many schools, but Hillcrest was by far, one of my favorites. They had a comprehensive ALPHA program, which I attended, and the staff was warm and inviting and made my middle-of-the-year transition an easy one. Now, I have two children of my own. My oldest started Kindergarten last year, and, of course, I sent her to Hillcrest. As a parent, I can fully appreciate the value of this school. The teachers are well trained and compassionate. The office personell are helpful and friendly. Hillcrest also acknowledges that reading, writing, and arithmetic are not everything in education, and therefore, offers an arts program to help enhance their students and produce well rounded learners. My second will be in school soon enough, and without a doubt, Hillcrest is where I will send them.
OUR FAMILY MOVED TO LAKE WALES ALMOST 10 YEARS AGO, AND ALL OF OUR CHILDREN HAVE ATTENDED HILLCREST ELEMENTARY FROM KINDERGARTEN UP. HILLCREST HAS BEEN A GREAT SCHOOL, WELL-ORGANIZED AND WELL-KEPT SCHOOL OVER THE YEARS WITH GOOD, CARING TEACHERS AND STAFF. ALTHOUGH THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT, THIS SCHOOL HAS BEEN VERY SATISFACTORY AND I AM GLAD MY CHILDREN ATTENDED IT. THEY ALSO OFFER A "MAJOR" PROGRAM FOR 4TH AND 5TH GRADE STUDENTS , IN WHICH THEY CAN CHOOSE TP PARTICIPATE IN MUSIC, GRAPHIC ARTS, VISUAL ARTS, CHORUS AND BALLET !!! WONDERFUL PROGRAMS !! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HILLCREST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!
