Here's a copy of the "Thank You" we wrote to our child's teacher, regarding the 2009/2010 school year. This should sum up our opinion:
Just a quick note to say thank you, again, for all the encouraging support, attention and direction that you provided to our child during her 1st year at D.O.E.S. We witnessed her growth accelerate, on both personal (e.g.: self-confidence) and academic levels, shortly after we pulled her out of Countryside Montessori and allowed her to become a part of your classroom. We attribute much of that success to your teaching skills and your obvious and personal connection with the kids .. as well as the overall D.O.E.S. program.
Although such work never ceases – for a teacher or the parents, our child's overall improvement in all areas was quite visible to both you and us, during the partial school year that she attended your 1st grade class. We are eager to see her continue in her growth – both personally and academically – during her 2nd year in attendance. Although I have not personally met her new teacher, my wife’s initial impression was confirming that D.O.E.S. will continue to be the right choice of school for our daughter.
Additionally, please know that we are truly appreciative of the additional support and encouragement that you provided to us, via email and in-person. It is with great certainty that the next batch of children and their parents will arrive at the same conclusion, in a very short time.
