Swimming Pen Creek Elementary School Reviews

listen to your child and your gut instinct!

By a Parent on

On the whole swimming pen is a great school. My kids have been attending there for years. however it is true that SOME of the staff are very cold! and can be heartless! but this is about individuals and i understand the school cannot be held responsible for there acts. my child to suffered humiliation in the lunchroom when one of the teachers on seeing her packed lunch told her it was all junk! this coming from a very overweight teacher whom should be watching her own food intake. upon visiting the library again my child was humiliated when she was told she still had an overdue book and could no longer take books anymore until the lost book was returned or paid for. the book had been returned  months ago there mistake!
As for her now home room teachers i find her saying things to me like " my teachers are only nice to me when your there" or " my teachers says to rise your hand when u need help but when i do she ignore me or helps someone else, or she snaps at me" "saying what do you want can't you see that i am busy"
i feel sad that my child has to endure this kind of treatment but this is our zoned school the alternative is homeschooling which would not work for us.
not all the teachers are like this there are some wonderful! but you can't protect your child from a teachers personality when your not there. the next time i get a gut feeling about a teacher i will pull my child out immediately into another class!
my advise is to LISTEN TO YOUR CHILD AND YOUR GUT INSTINCT! for peace of mind when your not there to protect your child. there are so many new teachers there now. that you don't know there personality or reputation and in my case it came to late to identify the problem. had i listen to my gut she would not be in this class with theses mean teachers now!

My daughter has attended this school since kindergarden. We have been very pleased with the teachers and their dedication to not only our child, but all the children we see them interact with.  Mrs. Paulk is wonderful and knows each child by name. It is obvious that the children at this school love her and all the teachers there. My daughter has excelled there in many ways because of the staff here. We are very grateful and would reccommend this school highly.

I think this school is a poor excuse of our public education, the people that work at this school have no morals, who takes a 6 year olds lunch away from them, tells them they have no money and can't have the lunch throws it away in front of them and gives them a piece of bread with a slice of cheese with nothing to drink, sure they stamp the childs hand but then make them wash the hand and huh guess what the soap washed it off so the parent never even knew they had no money left for lunch.  Can you say send a note to the parents you owe $1.50 for lunch and your childs lunch tab is empty, the person who did this to my grandchild should be ashamed of themselves and the school board and a few other people are going to hear my voice on this. A child goes hungry over a $1.50. Shame on you Swimming Pen. A Concerned Grandparent

The teachers at this school tend to be critical of each other.  I know of several teachers who have had complaints about this and have left the school for this reason.

I have a child at Swimming Pen Creek and he loves this school
I think that this is a wonderful school and my son's teacher-Mrs. Johnson is a very very good teacher. I am very thankful for this school. If it wasnt for Swimming Penn Creek ,I truly believe that my child would have fell between the cracks and would have been lost.  My child was overwhelmed in the other school he was in but now he is learning and having fun doing it.
I once again am truly gratefull for Swimming Penn Creek and all the wonderful people that work in this great school.
