As a long-time volunteer I say with great confidence that this school is having its best year ever, and that next year will be even more awesome! With the guidance of visionary administration and outstanding teachers, and the addition of advanced technology in testing and computing, Athenian Academy will reach new highs in academic excellence while keeping that small school, family feeling. If you want to be a part of this small-town school with a big heart, join in and volunteer! You CAN make a difference!!

It is a great little school for my 3 girls, we have been at Athenian Academy since they opened. The teachers and staff are passionate about their jobs and make every effort to be successful at what they do with the resourches they have. My kids are doing great, they love the school and their teachers. We are working hard to continue to improve the school and their programs, many new and exciting changes are on their way. The school is enjoying an expansion and new classrooms.

THE WORST SCHOOL EVER and with a really bad reputation in the community - I placed my child there for one year based on it being a charter school and what was falsely advertised on their website - my sons teacher very unpleasant I dont think I ever really saw her smile, communication was poor and even though charter schools are suppose to help children who are in need I had the opposite happen. Not only did they not give my child any basic education, my son lost so much gound in 1 year, it was really pathetic, they also depleted his options for a portfolio since he did not pass FCAT. After researching other school options ( I wish I would have done a better job before placing him there ) I found that Athenian Academy of Pasco has A HORRIBLE REPUTATION IN THE COMMUNITY WITH SOME TEACHERS IN THE DISTRICT STATING KIDS COMMING FROM THERE ARE TRAIN WRECKS ACADEMICALLY!!!! AND THEY ARE A WASTE OF GOVERNMENT MONEY THAT COULD BE BETTER UTILIZED ELSEWHERE.
If you love your children and want the to succeed DO NOT PLACE THEM THERE.

This is my daughter's first year at the Academy. It was a tough start, but it was worth it. The new Principals are the best! The changes since December are nothing but positive.
My daughter's teacher was reassigned now she has a new one. Mrs Naparano is wonderful! It is the best thing that could have happened for her! She is participating more, getting better grades and is generally much happier now. I do the Happy Dance every day now knowing she is thriving under her care. No parent wants to hear the "retained". But Mrs DeNicola took time out of her busy day to calm me down. She explained the benefits of retention at this point and took the stigma(& sting)out of it. Where else can you find a Principal that is just as excited as you are that your child got a 100% on a test? Happy Dance again! This was the best decision ever for our daughter.

This is the little school that could. Their charter has been extended for the next 2 years which is cause for celebration. The school has gone through several major changes during the course of the 2009-2010 school year but from what I have seen, the changes have been necessary and positive. It has been an adjustment for students and staff alike but at the end of the day, my children are receiving a top notch education and they feel safe and secure in their school environment. They honestly feel like the students and staff of Athenian are their extended family. It is a feeling we have not experienced at any other school. The Principal and Assistant Principal are amazing. They care about the students and it shows in everything they do. They are easy to talk to and make you feel like your suggestions, concerns, thoughts, etc., are important. The girl in the front office is a gem. She knows every student in the school by name and most of the parents as well. The message is loud and clear...Your kids matter here. They are not just another number. And with the reinstatement of the Greek and Spanish programs for all students kindergarten through 8th grade, things are only looking better. Bringing my children to Athenian Academy of Pasco is hands down the best decision I have made for my children. Now they just need to open a high school!
