Unfortunately this school has some serious problems. The first two years (KG and 1st Grade) were great. In second and third grades we encountered some serious challenges with teachers. These involved lack of communication, observed favoritism of a select few students, and the dispensing of large amounts of candy. We also experienced a strange aloofness from many parents that we are still trying to understand. There are cliques here of folks that blatantly try to ignore each-other. It's sad and humorous to watch. Being that our children were born overseas and have lived throughout Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Ecuador, we didn't expect to experience this in our home town of origin... To me, it appears that if you are not accepted by one of the cliques, your child will be on the periphery with a more challenging experience. To sum things up, nice location, small school atmosphere, but something isn't healthy here.

Melanie: I think its a great school. Teachers are hands on and totally involved with the kids. I like that its a smaller more focused school. My daughter loves it, and i like the atmosphere and friendly environment. Its important to like the school and staff you leave your children with. My grade for Coronado Elementary A+.
